I thought it was interesting to see where the inaugural classes of two new Florida med schools went.

Both schools were not fully accredited when they filled their first class in 2009. The main difference is that UCF offered a full tuition and living expenses scholarship to every member of the class while FIU did not (as far as I'm aware).

FIU Match List:

For some reason 5 out of 38 matches were at the University of Washington in Seattle at UCF.

Lol - not a single Family Medicine match.

Interesting that the FIU website focuses on a "100% match rate", ignoring the fact that the guy matching into Prelim Surgery probably wouldn't categorize his results as "successful."

I have a couple friends in the UCF med school now, as well as going to undergrad with several people that applied there. Most of the people I know that applied to that med school slept through their classes and still graduated with a near 4.0 GPA. They're apparently going to make it harder to get in each year, in order to draw more successful students.

UCF had a pretty impressive list for its first graduating class.

Th UCF list seems to be missing the 'A-F' specialties seeing how it starts at emergency medicine. interested to see how many matched in anesthesiolgy, etc.
