Hello everyone! I'm thinking of signing up for an MCAT in maybe May so that I can apply in June but I wanted to consult the board to hear everyone's opinion.

I've been studying roughly 10-15 hours per week while working at a hospital since last August. I have used the complete set of Princeton books and have done a variety of practice exams as well as CARS practice with EK and NS. I'm aiming for roughly a 510 or better. The following is a timeline of my scores on exams.

Oct: Princeton 1 495 124/124/122/125
Nov: Princeton 2 499 123/124/125/127
Dec: NS 1 506 126/127/125/128
Jan: NS 2 504 126/125/126/127
NS 3 502 126/122(?)/126/128
Feb: NS 4 502 125/124/127/126
NS 1/2 508 126/124/130/128 *changed CARS strategy going forward
NS 5 506 126/125/127/128
Mar: NS 6 505 125/126/126/128
AAMC Sample 514 71%/89%/68%/90% (converted to 128/129/127/129)

I'm inclined to believe my true score is somewhere between my NS scores and the sample. I plan to use AAMC material from this point forward and then take AAMC FL 1-3 just before my exam.

Also, given that it's March 18th today, can I complete all of the AAMC material by May?

Thanks for any advice!

Do all the AAMC materials and average the AAMC FL scores. If the average is around your target score then go for it. Do CARS everyday (timed).

Also, both your C/P and B/B look weak so I would focus on those.

NextStep did a good job for me in terms of predicting my score. AAMC not so much. This may or may not be the case for you as your NS scores were achieved months prior to your AAMC score.

My scores on relevant tests, for reference:

NS#1: 510
NS#2: 512
AAMC #1: 516
AAMC #2: 513
Real Deal: 511
