Are there any any OMFS residencies which you would recommend avoiding because they don't provide enough exposure to the good surgeries? I don't want to spend my entire residency shucking teeth and dropping implants...that's what private practice is for.

I think the best program is the one you get into. lol. But seriously, I think all US OMFS residencies have certain requirements mandated by the ADA. Do a few externships and you'll get a decent idea.

I realize externships will give me a good idea about what a program will offer, but I can only do so many of those and I don't want to waste my time with a program that isn't what I'm looking for.

I am going to presume that Shab mis-read the question. I'm no expert but I've heard mostly good experiences from many other people with greater knowledge of those programs.

I've already MATCHED pal. Why don't you come to Emory and see for yourself how NOT busy we are. Can't you see it was a little harmless sarcasm? If you don't already know which programs are strong, you are falling behind the curve.

I know it sucks when the attending doesn't use lube, but you've seriously got to find a better outlet for all that aggression. Maybe you could organize a Sex & the City night with your favs or you could try taking your little dog for a walk in the park...it'll be a great opportunity to show off that new top that you've just been dying to wear. You know, the one that has just the right amount of cleavage...not enough to say "I'm easy" but just enough that you still feel fabulous.
