I've found a few on the internet, but am interested in any of your recommednations.

I know this is not exactly what you are looking for since it isn?t free. I know Netters offers flashcards for gross that covers the important stuff. When I was at the Society for Neuroscience convention I was talking to the author of the Netters Neuroscience textbook. He said that they will be coming out with neuroscience flash cards later this year. By the way, the author was the chair of the committee that writes the neuroscience board questions for a number of years ? so they will prob be good.

What about making "labels" in Word or another such program...use page 1 for the front side, page 2 for the back and when you print it, just be sure to reinsert page one into the printer again to get the other side on the back.

btw, I'm guessing you're from Canada eh? I don't hear to many Americans call them "flashcards" (I tend to hear "notecards" in the USA and "Flashcards" in Canada)...Can anyone else confirm this observation?? 🙂

Admittedly, I am a notecard freak. I never was before medical school, butI have found that they are the best way for me to study. I use Microsoft PowerPoint to make them. You can adjust the page size to 4x6' & make the cards with whatever you want on them. Then you can select in most printers to print on 4x6" note cards & print them out. If you want front & back you have to tell it to print odds first, flip your stack over & say print evens. It works pretty well for me & it's very easy to add in pictures & figures from the internet or professor's PPT's. Good Luck

You can use flashcards without having to print them out and cut them up (but it gives you that option...never used that, though)

Go to www.loopware.com and get iFlash. That is, if you're a mac user. This little program rocks my world! I've been using it since day 1 of med school and since then several of my classmates have also gotten hooked.

Not *all* of them are available online outside of Albany Med's servers, but a lot of them are.

If you download the iFLASH program from loopware.com, you will have access to what they call the "deck library." In the deck library are several groups of my cards. All of them start with "AMC2008" in the title, so you can run a search that way to find them.

Keep in mind the cards kind of go with our themes here at Albany. We have an organ- or systems-based curriculum. So for example, we're in "musculoskeletal" theme right now, and that means we do the anatomy AND biochem AND histo AND embryology AND absolutely everything that has to do with muscles/bones/cartilage/PNS all at once. So you might find that the cards aren't well organized for you if you have, say, complete anatomy as one course and physiology as another.

But you're welcome to the cards if you want 'em. 🙂

Supermemo is a program I got for free for my pocket pc and I think they have a free demo for the pc that limits you to 30 items in each database. If you have a palm then Learn?! was a great one I used to use. You have to go through a website to create datbases for that one, though (all free). Here's the url:
