University of Florida

Pros
  • Cheaper cost of living, my best friend might be going here as well.
  • It is the top medical school in Florida.
  • P/F the first two years, has the 2 years pre-clinical and 2 years clinical.
  • Very in-depth anatomy lab - according to the second look.
Cons
  • Location - Gainesville

University of Miami

Pros
  • Location, closer to family and other friends.
  • More likely to match in Miami - Long-term goal is to live in Miami.
  • P/F on the first phase
  • The curriculum is in phases, so only 1 phase of pre-clinical, steps 1 and 2 taken together.
Cons
  • The cost of living is expensive.
I have lived in Miami for over ten years, and I love the community. Wherever I end up, I will end up with about the same amount of debt (due to some scholarships here and there). I just wanted to see if anyone has another perspective.

genuinely i think the difference is negligable, as someone not from florida umiami is what ive heard of more but u mentioned UF is top in FL so im sure the opportunities r similar. go where u think youd be happier given that cost is same! sounds like thats umiami
