font&size requirements for essays???

In general, how strict are schools with their font and font size requirements for the essays. If the supplemental application says use 10 pt font, but you use 9.5 or 10.5 pt, will they care? Are any schools known to be sticklers for the rules like that?

I don't sit on the Admission Committee or anything, but if it says size 10, I would double, triple, and quadruple check that everything is in size 10 font. That's just me though.

I'd have thought that most use 12 for ease of reading, but yeah, you need to learn to follow instructions explicitly. Sure, they may not care, probably won't even check, but if you get an anal adcom, yeah, you don't follow instructions, that's a good reason to toss the app into the round file with all the other 600-800 people not getting an interview at a school that takes in 1000+ apps/year.
