Hey, don't worry. You'll be fine. I'm probably gonna move to Royal Oak in the first week of Aug. or so.

I was thinking about an apartment in royal oak, but now i'm looking into condos. What apartments were you looking at? Is anyone going to try and find a roomate(s). I know they send out a sheet with upper classman that need roomates, but it would be nice to find someone in my own class too.

I am going to start looking for apartment pretty soon in Royal Oak, Farmington Hills etc. I was thinking of having a roomate as well. Sharing the rent will save a lot of money.

It would definitely save a lot of money considering it seems pretty expensive in royal oak. I wonder what most first year dental students at UDM do.

I'm looking for a roomate as well. It's still kind of up in the air where I'm gonna live for sure, but I'm going to take a day and go look for some apartments somewhere in the royal oak area, I think. Does anyone know when they are supposed to send out that list of upper classmen, I didn't know they did that, and I was thinking about just calling the school and seeing if they could hook me up with some advice. Let me know if you guys find any cool places to live. Later

Hey guys
Thanks for all the replys...
Guys How do u know about the Royal Oak u guys talk about? I live in NY ... and I have no idea as far as where to live in Detroit..
There is no dorming as far as I know Right? And when are they going to send out the name of students looking for roomate that would really help mee

I am so excited to meet u guys sooonnnn😀 and be classmates !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I called few people for apartments. They all told me it was too early to call and right time would be end of May. Apartments I found were around 550$/month. Its not so bad. Have you guys done any research?

I have looked a little online for some places. I'm still not too sure where I want to live though. My girlfriend's roomate is from Detroit so she's helping me out a little with looking for a place. I ran searches in royal oak, hazel park, and some of the other suburbs around there. Where were the apartments you called? I'll let you know if i hear of any nice places/sweet deals. thanks dude for the little bit of info.

try hungtingon woods or grosse point woods, nice houses/apartments for a lot cheaper than the farther out suburbs like birmingham and bloomfield hills.

btw wheres UDM...isnt it a little far from these places your naming...

yeah that is what i was thinking i live in livonia and it takes me about 20 minutes to get into the city with traffic and it is about the same distance as royal oak. did you check into any places in the city? or in dearborn/highland park...they would both probably cut time in half at least compared to royal oak. hope it helps.

Every year a significant portion of the class ends up living in Royal Oak and thus a lot of social events take place around that area. You don't have to live directly in the main part of town either but even there you can find plenty of places that don't cost too much.
