Just wanted to recommend a book for people who don't feel strong in physics: Nova MCAT physics by Peter Biehle.

When I first started studying, I felt physics was my worst subject. After Nova MCAT Physics + EK Physics, physics ended up being the area I became most comfortable with (i.e. Everytime I saw a physics question during the MCAT, I smiled =P )

P.S.

I don't work for NOVA =P

Where can I get this book? I saw one on Amazon.com but the publication date was 1997....any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Maybe the laws of Physics haven't changed so much since 1997...Nova you say. Hmmmmm

I'd recommend that folks get formulas memorized cold. I think I had 60 physics and 40-some chemistry formulas, or vice versa. Doing that alone brought my practice tests from a 23 to a 28.

dc

An Yong is right. Physics is physics, although this helps to clarify everything. Im using it along side EK, and it helps in understanding everything, plus they have tons of problems at the end of the chapters. Memorizing da' formulas is good too, but this helps you to actually understand it.

I've been searching for this book everywhere....I ordered it from Amazon.com but they sent me a confirmation saying that it won't be shipped until, at the earliest, July 26th!!!! I can't wait that long!!!!! Have any suggestions where I can find it NOW? Thanks

A friend of mine was able to find one at our local barnes and nobles, but this was back in Feb.

Back in November I encountered the same problem with finding the Nova MCAT physics book. I ordered it from Amazon and was told even back then that it was out of stock. I ended up doing a google search on Nova and emailed the publisher. I was informed by them that the book was out of stock and that I could oder a slightly damaged book for like 19.00. Which I did. It had only slight cover damage and I had it in plenty of time for the MCAT. Just a suggestion.

i used it. while all of it was really helpful, i thought the section on E&M was great.

Nova stopped publishing this book in 1997 or 2000 so it will be hard to come by a new copy of this book. I did a lot of searches and it seems Amazon is the last place that has them new. Finding it used also is a challenge. I have not seen it on half.com or ebay

I would suggest everybody to stay away from this user : Learss. and this link

Excuse me. Who the h*** are you? Do you know me? Have you tried that link? I was giving suggestions. Please explain yourself?
www.bookfinder.com is a the website out to find used books. I used it all the time.

i'm not sure if you corrected your orignal post but www.bookfinders.com with an "s" added sends you to a porn site. without an "s" you go to a legit book finding site. one of you two made a mistake with the "s".

www.bookfinder.com is a good site
www.allbookstores.com is similar and is also a good site

Thanks for telling me about that mistake. I did not realize I put an "s" at the end. I appreciate it. 🙂

I've checked everywhere....and I can't find it. I contacted the publisher also, but they can't find a copy either. If you guys know anyone who is selling their book, please let me know....Thanks.

I just ordered the book which was used once before off of half.com. I actually saw 2 books posted. It may still be there. BTW, also try campusbooks.com--they search all the book companies for you and let you know where the book is the cheapest & its availability. Also use the ISBN- 1889057002--it is much easier.
Good luck!

I just ordered it from Amazon and it should be here by july 2,hopefully ....paid 15 for express shipping

Hmmmm....that's so weird. When I ordered it from Amazon.com, it said it would arrive at the earliest, July 26th or 27th. And that's with overnight shipping.

I initially got an estimated shipping time of early July. But it later updated to an estimate of August with the slowest shipping rate.
