What kinds of courses did you take during your undergrad years, specifically relating to Public Health? Did you have any volunteering or research experiences that directly related to both the MD and MPH program? I only ask because I'm seriously considering applying for the joint MD/MPH degree but I'm not sure what classes I could take during undergrad that would give me insight into what public health is all about.

for a good undergrad understanding of public health, try medical sociology classes. what I learned in mine covered two of the classes i've taken so far in my mph course. also, if your school offers stuff like intro to public health, epidemiology, or any sort of medical anth classes, those are good too. demography and other soci classes would give you a really solid foundation.
