Are you doing anything special to prepare for the upcoming semester? Reviewing prereq material, new textbooks etc. I am spending a lot of time playing with my three boys and taking an online public health class that is required for all participants in the college of public health, which OT is part of. But I don't know if I should be doing more (i.e. reviewing A&P, medical terminology, etc). It has been awhile since I have taken some of my prerequistes and I want to be sure that I have the same upcoming knowledge as my classmates. On the other hand, this is my last summer with my little boys and I want to enjoy every minute of it. What is everyone else doing?

Thanks.

Well, I'm not starting this fall. I started my program last summer. So, I have been there and done that, and believe me when I say, you will spend plenty of time studying once you actually start. Reviewing A & P and such isn't going to give you that much of an edge in my opinion, because at least in my program, the science classes were more in depth than that. Lectures were usually structured so that there would be a quick review of the basics at the beginning and then they got to the heart of the topic in the middle, which was always more detailed. As for the textbooks- it's better to follow along with the lecture. In my experience, if I start studying for anything too early, I don't retain as much anyway.

So my vote? Enjoy your summer and spend it with your boys! 🙂

Thanks. That is really what I wanted to hear🙂
