stupid question: How do you cite internet sources?

Since science journalistic writing doesn't follow exactly the MLA or APA citing styles, I don't know how to handle referencing internet sources. I'm editing for a journal and we have to check all the references, and I can't find any standard procedure for citing internet stuff.

It might depend what style you are using to cite everything else (APA, etc). I have a book called "Writing papers in the biological sciences". Here is what it says:

when citing an electronic source, include any information that would help someone access the original: author and title, date updated, date accessed, internet address, publisher if available.

What I do is put the title of the page (or author then title), the address, when it was last updated, and then the date i accessed it. Hope this helps.
