For those who will start applying this summer....

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
hmm...I dont know if I would exactly call it a game........unless you are referring to mind-games.

Hang in there.......here comes the start of endless waiting, non-stop worry, recurrent nightmares, and continual feeling of confusion!! :wow: :scared:

But heck.....go for it and kick some butt while your at it too!! :meanie: BEST OF LUCK to you

I'm scared/excited/unsure what to feel right now. Studying for the MCAT is keeping my mind off some of the anxiety.....

I, too, came into the process very excited. But now I'm just pure exhausted - from finding finances to pay for the application process, traveling around the country, trying to keep up in school, trying to keep one's mind off the whole process.

Hopefully I can regain this energy before med school starts. Anyone else feel the same way?

After the nightmare of my junior year, the application process in my senior year was actaully not that bad. My advice is to start early. I sent my AMCAS in around July 1, as soon as I got my MCAT scores back, and I sent my secondaries back as soon as I got them. I was done with apps by the time school started in Sept. Not only are you done by the time the stress of school starts again, but you get interviews and acceptances earlier. Also, interviewing is the most fun part of the process- I almost laughed when my MCAT instructor told us that last year, but it really is true, I had a great time on my interviews.

I'm in the middle of physics II and organic II, the MCAT, and finding two more LORs. Oh yeah, and getting the DO I shadowed to write the letter he promised me 😡

I am actually going to wait until I recieve an acceptance to use my Howard Dean War screech.

hey OP...

save some energy. its a marathon, not a sprint.

its a LONG process. with the first few months being the worst. dont burn yourself out.

my advice to you 🙂
