What are your plans for the next 6 months or so? I'm just gonna workworkworkworkwork and take a few night classes until June, vacation to either Hawaii or Eastern Europe, then move OOS late June, early July.

Any ideas on "fun" things to do before 4 years (3 years if UoP) of d-school?

What work are ya'll doing?

I dental assist and tutor science/math in the evenings. I get paid double per hour to tutor but have to travel up to half an hour sometimes to do it. Overall I could prob make more money working in a medical lab or hospital but I get what I thought was good experience in the dental field (I still havent even gotten an interview yet 🙁 sadly)

Yeah after my Bachelor I had a hard time finding something in my town FULL-TIME (I was assisting part time previous to this) because its not that large. Best of luck, I eventually got a gig assisting by emailing my resume to literally every dentist in town, and / or visiting the ones I couldnt find an email for. For tutoring science/math, putting up a craigslist ad explaining my degree, desires, and a bit of experience was enough for me to get 5 clients right after the current school term started. I ask $30/hour with a minimum 2 hours per week of each client. Im not making fantastic money but Im enjoying teaching and relearning/keeping up with material, and getting extra dental experience which will hopefully translate to a bit of increased knowledge/success in Dental school.

I felt the same way and wanted something part time but with a flexible schedule so I became a substitute teacher! I make $70 a day and work as much or as little as I want. I get text alerts on my phone and can accept or reject available jobs. I average 2-3 days a week.

I just googled substitute teaching for the county I lived in / near and applied and went to a brief training session and had to be fingerprinted and such. The company I work for that provides substitutes for the county I live in is Source4Teachers and you could check their website to see if they cover your county as well (it's a national company that does absence management for teachers).

I work in a research lab with monkeys, so that keeps me busy/entertained. I work around 20 hours a week, and I'm finishing up my degree and pre-requisites for Michigan. I'm fairly busy, but I like my mind occupied. Six days a week I'm up at 5 AM.

I'm going to Spain for Spring Break, so that should be cool. I won't have much time off after class since Minnesota finishes up in late May, and Michigan starts in late June. Probably for the better since I need to get out of Minneapolis.
