so i forgot to mention an activity i am involved with this year during an interview. it is a pretty good commuinty service project. would it be ok to mention this in a TY letter to the interviewer? prior to the interview i did include this info in an update letter, but it was never brought up during the interview.....

I wouldn't. If you sent an update letter that should be enough. I'd just send a simple thank you note.

no, its sounds too desperate. what are you going to say? "thank you and I just wanted to let you know that I did this community service project too...so yeah...think about that"

thanks for the advice... certainly going to leave it out-- i guess i was just afraid that the interviewer would go back and see the update and be like "wonder why he didn't mention this....." but i am sure it is common for ppl to forget to mention stuff

thanks again

it's also common for stuff to just not come up....interviewers aren't there to check off that you mention everything you've ever done. also, thank you letters shouldn't include additional info like that since it cheapens it and makes it look like you just sent the thank you letter to talk about yourself rather than to thank the interviewer for their time.
