I can't believe that no-one is opening a mouth about this question. Give us some clue guys.
But questions on the DAT are bound overlap our discussions. Just because it is supposedly a DAT question doesnt mean we cant talk about it. All the infamous dat questions are from literature somewhere...just this question..i feel like we need a cell bio course to answer and im a chem major so thats not cool. Can someone help with this question! We are allowed to discuss biology and FRAP on this site, so please can someone help out!

One question is not going to make or break your DAT unless you are shooting for a 28, so relax and quit trying to cheat (yes, that's what finding out a question on a test before taking it would be considered). I can totally see these kinds of people being the ones who get caught with unreleased NBDE exam questions in dental school and then whine when they get kicked out. Just study like everyone else. You'll feel a greater sense of accomplishment in the end if you do it all on your own. 👍Think of it this way: why would someone who just took the DAT, and didn't know exactly what to study for in advance, give out specifics on one of the most unexpected questions on the DAT? That would only give an advantage to later test takers and put the person who took the DAT with no prior knowledge of its contents at a disadvantage. Just study the material like everyone elseOne question is not going to make or break your DAT unless you are shooting for a 28, so relax and quit trying to cheat (yes, that's what finding out a question on a test before taking it would be considered). Yeah, which is why you shouldn't be willing to cheat for it. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned, but I've never heard of a standardized test where you knew the questions in advance. If one question is not going to break our DAT, then it is not gonna give us an advantage either. Think of it that way. The advantage thing is BS. There are a millions of things considered in a dental application besides one single DAT Bio test.
Okay, Mr. Semantics... 🙄 And yes, based on my definition knowing about a question beforehand is cheating. It is also cheating according to the ADA, as they make you sign that you will not discuss test material before or after the test when you register for the DAT. It's in that whole Rules of Conduct section (points 2 and 3) that you probably skipped over when you registered. But for your benefit, I will quote it:Actually, this is not a standardized test. A standard test would be one which would test all the applicants at the same time of the year with the same questions.
Based on your definition, our knowledge about the existence of a question about FRAP is already cheating, since other applicants who don't know this blog don't know about that subject either. It would not be cheating on my definition though. I call it being opportunistic rather than cheating. It's not my fault that people are not reading this blog.

"2. You will not give, receive, or obtain any form of unauthorized assistance prior to or during the test or break periods. By way of example, you will not use or share unreleased test content.
3. You will maintain the confidentiality of the test. You will not reproduce or attempt to reproduce test materials through memorization, recording or other means. You will not provide information relating to test content that may provide unfair advantage to other examinees. By way of example, you will not make use of or participate in the electronic posting of information regarding test content or answers."
You agreed to that when you registered for the test. I guess your moral conscience has a much looser definition of cheating than mine.
