What is the % recovery and lateral mobility for large multi-subunit integral membrane protein that is not anchored to the cytoskeleton?

a. High % recovery with fast mobility
b. Low % recovery with fast mobility
c. High % recovery with slow mobility
d. Low % recovery with low mobility

High percent recovery, but at low mobility or high is the question...

If its not anchored that means it will move throughout the membrane, FRAP = flourensence recovery after photobleaching...so if its moving the laser will catch it at high percent recovery...just i have no idea if its low mobility or high...someone HELP!!!!
 
i think answer is A.
protein that is not anchored to the cytoskeleton wil have high % of recovery which means fast motility.
 
I would guess its A, as it isnt anchored and proteins are free to move laterally.
 
yea its A, its got to be....more mobility = faster and high percentage!!!

THIS QUESTION ISNT THAT BAD actually...
 
if question was asking cholesterol instead of protein, then asnwer would be d.
 
cuz cholesterol is anchored, its not a movable protein in the membrane correct???
 
i don't know about cholestrol being anchored, but it decreases fluidity of PM.

Also, double bond (kinks? kiks? kirks? whatever) , and short phospholipid will also increase the fluidity.
 
but doesnt FRAP have to do with mobility of some substance on the membrane...i dont know if it has to do with the membrane itself being fluid or not...
