So when I transferred schools I initially went into engineering before I changed my major to biology and the first semester I was in engineering I took 2 engineering classes I did not have the pre reqs for as well as calculus III and started off with horrible first test grades. So I went to my advisor and they told me to change my grading status to pass/fail and retake the courses in the spring but instead I decided I didn't want to do engineering and so I didn't finish the classes and received a grade of Unsatisfactory (Fail) for all three of those classes.

I'm freaking out because I don't know how this is going to look on my transcript and if they will look at that and automatically toss my application. Otherwise my application is fine with a 3.5gpa and 20 DAT score. Those 3 classes didn't effect my gpa because I took them pass/fail. Hopefully they wouldn't toss my application and I could explain what happened at the interview but I'm extremely worried!

I think if you fail a class taken as pass/fail, AADSAS factors that into your GPA regardless of what your school does, so the GPA your school calculates is higher than the one dental schools will see.

You're definitely not in the best position, but I cannot comment on whether or not your chances are over. If you do very well from now on, you might still have a shot.

I have a 3.5 gpa but if those classes got factored into my gpa I would be so screwed that would kill my gpa! It says on the ADEA website pass fail grades are not factored into gpa.

But it says "Grades and credit hours for all failed courses will be included in the ADEA AADSAS GPA, even if they are not included in the GPA calculations of the transcript–issuing institution". If you take a course pass/fail, the fail mean you failed the course. The GPA will probably be calculated as if the grade were an E.

Is there any way I can confirm this will it say my gpa on my application?
