As for the intimidation factor, I hope you didn’t do it on purpose, or I would be forced to think less of you. I think that everybody has had a unique experience, and while only a rare few may have come to their commitment to medicine while serving the poor in Africa, others have had equally special experiences that have led them on their path.

no, i totally didn't. people were like "are there any non-trads or people who had other careers?" that's when it inevitably came up.

plus, my name tag said my school. everyone was like,"oh, so you're at x school?" then, i had to go into my story.

i think the correct verb might be connaitre not savoir. 😛

then again those 2 confuse me even after living in a french speaking country for 2 years.

I only had one year of French about 12 years ago, but I would think that savoir would be correct in that instance. The phrase for not knowing French is "je ne sais pas le francais," no? I thought connaitre was more to the effect of knowing/being acquainted with someone. *shrug* Ah, here's a web site clarification. Looks like savoir is correct:

"Trust the adcoms that they have plenty of experiences and knowledge in all aspect of medicine not only in the USA but the rest of the world too. Besides, every doctor including most of adcoms has all kind of patients coming to them with variety of complaints from simple headaches to absolute absurdity such as Tylenol worsens his or her headaches. All adcoms know how to handle it. At least they don’t make a snap shot diagnosis on medical school applicants(, do they?)"

You might want to respond as an English teacher, pre-allo, both or however you’d like. I am all ears to anyone with a lot of interviews. I was wondering if it was good for anyone to read or just another piece of puzzle, defective product or even garbage as usual.

I only wrote it for everyone to read. While the primary intention might be to post-pad, I hope that it is also constructive. The only one thing I don’t want is to kill the thread.

um, i don't know what you were really trying to say. i say cut through crap and complex language and just say what you want to say in the simplest manner possible.

that's what i did in my secondaries and am going to do on my interviews. you won't get thrown off and lost in what you're saying.
