I can do it now or in kindergarten. I work in a hospital so we'll see if that saves me even a little.

The dropoff went okay. I cried more than he did. I get lots of pictures which is helping.
Really though, hope you're doing okay. I know people say you "get used to it," and many people do, but I'm still sad about it with my second baby.

The time between dropping them off at day care and moving to another country and renting them the house because they're never leaving and you want some privacy and don't want to be responsible for your adult children's supper goes fast. Enjoy it!

I mean which of us parents doesn't dream of running away from home from time to time. Could be any day now.

Knicks for the win! Greatest comeback in NBA finals history. If they don't win this it will be the curse of the orange orangutan.

Knicks are the 25-26 Champions!!! This is a good weekend. Though my kid did ask to shut off the game and watch it tomorrow in the 3rd quarter because it was past bed time. Kids these days 🤣

On the topic of kids…I’m at Disney with my teenage son, my bff and her 6 yr old twins. I love those kiddos, but seriously cannot fathom why anyone has more than one child! I was in charge of all three kids today and I am exhausted! Definitely feel good about my decision to stop at one!

One of my friends described daycare as paying $30,000 year in order to receive every infectious disease known to man.
I've got some pro-tips for you. Buy one of those home otoscopes that takes pictures. For inevitable ear infections/pink eye you can call the teledoc or whatever your insurance prefers and send them a picture of the ear drum or red eye. Often these tele health docs are open 24/7 and when your kiddo gets sent home at 4pm on Thursday, you don't have mess up your Friday by scrambling to the pediatrician.

Same. or is it that we just got better at handling it?

Personally, I think it was just getting a re-exposure to those childhood illnesses that our bodies had rarely seen since we were kids. Nowadays it's just the usual URIs. In the future, we get to look forward to the return of polio and measles deaths because of the willful stupidity of our populace.

We have a brief window where we're just dealing with a runny nose. I am excited for the weekend though. I plan on playing Stardew Valley for the millionth hour.

Spent my Friday driving down to the border, entering the US for a little while, they crossing back over to apply for a new employer restricted work permit because I got an awesome new job up here in the 51st state! I'm good until at least fall 2028. If the orange idiot messes up CUSMA it could get more complicated, but I'm eligible for permanent residency end of this year. If all goes well with that, I won't be dependent on a tenuous trade agreement.

Because this is the best place to put this...why does planning any vacation involving Disney take up your whole life? I am already exhausted by choices and the vacation is no time soon. This is with using a travel agent!
It's COVID's fault. They figured out fewer people with more money made the park a better experience. They're focusing more on crowd management and a customized experience because people pay extra for all of that. Their app makes it really easy to add fees to absolutely everything.

It's the worst.

LOL. Truth! Just got back from Disney World on Saturday. I had an amazing time, but it was exhausting beginning to end. I now need a few days off to recover from my vacation!

Up here in the Greater Toronto Area we currently have literally the worst air quality in the world. Trips outside limited to short walks with the dog. Smells like a campfire outside, and I quickly start wheezing. Supposed to be clearing up a little over the next few days. Temps in- as they say here- the mid thirties (that means hot!) Dont make it any better. Fortunately my Friday rec/leisure activity is indoors- old man (55+) pick-up hockey ( they call it "shinny" here) in the morning, and hopefully a lowest level there is beer league game tomorrow night. Watching some episodes of "For All Mankind" tonight. We're on Season 3 and I still can't tell ifvi like it or not, but I guess I'll see it through. I was excited for a new sci Winslow from the producer (Ron Moore)of one of my favorites of all time (the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica), but kind of Mehta. Also doing another playthrough of Witcher 3 and drinking some Sidecars, so i cant really complain too much!

My sports for the evening were canceled due to that same wildfire smoke. Hopefully it clears up some before doubleheaders on Sunday.
