My friend had a 3.4 sgpa and 3.5 cgpa with a 29 Mcat and got rejected from almost every MD program (he applied twice) and every DO program as well
The DO shocked me
Not one interview in either program!
Why do you think do s rejected him

The idea that DO schools accept anyone that applies is a huge misconception. Sure, their average matriculate has slightly lower stats than those in MD, but as future doctors, they still need to be accessed and proven capable through achieving academic success. It is also important they have a track record of service to convey empathy and concern.

Your friends stats aren't that good, and in my experience, DO schools place a lot of weight on having unique/impacting/long-lasting extracurriculars if the applicants stats aren't stellar. Perhaps he is just not very interesting. The best thing would be to reapply DO after a year or two of meaningful work.

You pretty much gave us nothing about your friend other than the numbers which are acceptable albeit GPA is low. What were his EC? How strong were his letters? Did his PS suck?

I hope he also doesn't have the same bias that you have toward DOs, and if he does, please don't express it at the interview.
