Friend's doctor recommended 6-MP for Crohn's

I was wondering if I could get some information on the drug 6-MP and if there is information on its use for Crohn's disease or colitis. She would like all the facts to be able to make a decision. Her doctor did not tell her all of the facts about the medication, but said that it has had positive effects for other patients. Any advice or information would be helpful.

Not speaking specifically to your friends case, but it depends on the severity of Crohn's as well as if you are actively treating it or trying to maintain remission.

6-MP is definitely a med used in Crohn's; however, you usually don't see 6-MP as a first line Tx.
