Hi Everyone,
I have a relative unique background and I would like some advice. I completed basic science courses in 2003-2005 and earned a 3.7 GPA. I was accepted into a PharmD program in 2005 so I attended pharmacy school from 2006. I completed all the didactic courses but did not complete the last year of rotations to earn a PharmD degree. After working for years as a Pharmacist Intern, I finally decided to change careers and apply for medical school. I do not have stellar grades from Pharmacy school (~2.0) but I know I am very capable of achieving good grades. I never took the MCAT and it has been years since I took the basic sciences courses. I have sufficient pharmaceutical knowledge, but I do not remember much basic science material. I am for certain that I want to attend medical school but I am a bit worried about my grades from Pharmacy school.
I think a post bac program is good for me so that I can demonstrate that I am capable of handling a heavy course load and earn high grades. How will the post bac admissions staff view my application? Do I even have a chance in getting into a post bac program? Can anyone recommend any programs? Seeing everyone else's credentials is making me nervous and I feel like I might have ruined my academic credentials with my time at Pharmacy school.
