Another obstacle to consider are the students who are on waitlists at other schools who won't hear back regarding their status before the early start date for FSU. A lot of seats may go to students who would prefer to be at other schools. 👎Zeppelin900 said:Not only that, people in the FSU waiting list are people like me for example, who have not yet gotten accepted anywhere else and the chance of them declining that acceptance is minimal...
There is nothing else to do but wait....I kind of deserve this for not making my best effort while an undergrad...Listen and learn kids...stay in school
frany584 said:Has anyone found the Admissions office to be helpful!!!?!?!?! I am getting so irritated. I have called repeatedly with no answer, left a message and did not get a call back...i FINALLY got in contact with an actual person and it went like this:
Me: Hi, I am currently in the Hold category and was hoping I could find out when I would be notified of my status?
Woman: Uhh..well....the admissions committee hasnt met yet
Me: Oh, well do you know when that might be?
Woman: Uhh...maybe at the end of the month? I'm not sure.....
Me: Okay, well those of us on Hold, are we automatically put on an alternate list, or can some of us be accepted or rejected?
Woman: Uhhh...I don't know....I didn't work here last year.
Me: Uhh...Okay, thanks. Bye.
If she did not know anything, why didn't she put me in contact with someone who did know!?!?! I keep gettin the run around from these people, its really rude. And I emailed about 2 weeks ago and the committee 'supposedly' hadn't met yet! What the heck is going on!?!?!?!? Sorry for ranting, but this is really annoying! 😡 😡 😕
Zeppelin900 said:OK, I talked to a friend of mine who's a first year at FSU and who asked Dr. Eveland directly about the admissions situation.
He (Dr. Eveland) said that they will send letters to accepted applicants with multiple acceptances the date of Apr 15th, giving them a final dateline of May 1st to make a decision as to what school they would like to attend. So, after April 15, if there are acceptees out there thinking about dropping their FSU aceptance we should have some movement.
I hope this comforts a lot of people...filibuster for sure...

Did someone from the admissions office call and confirm that it was received? After I submitted mine I got a phone call from a lady by the name of Rhonda who told me that they received my letter.Zeppelin900 said:I did, like a month ago

I have no idea, I actually spoke to the Bridge program coordinator regarding the same question. She basically said that they review the files after the final admissions decisions have been made, and they will pull "qualified applicants" and offer them a position in the program.Zeppelin900 said:No, I had a problem initially with the copy I mailed, but I called them and ended up faxing another copy. After faxing it, I called the lady again and she told me she had received it, so, I know for sure they have it. By the way, your post above about the bridge program. I would totally be willing to do that if there are no better choices. Anyone know how they decide who they will be offering to be part of this???
McMD said:ha. Funny story since everyone is pissed at the adcomm right now...I sent my withdrawal like a month ago, so hopefully they actually received and processed it. Anyways, I went to undergrad at FSU and my LOR's were held at the "pre-health advising office" which is located on the 2nd floor of the med school. Well, somehow, walking my LOR's from the 2nd floor to the first, ONE letter got lost...I'm sure it was the fault of the admissions office. Just thought that was strange how it got lost.
But I had a horrible time trying to get in touch with people in the admission's office. I had already been accepted and when I called to ask a question they said "you're file is still under consideration"...so pretty much it's just what they tell everyone. Don't expect answers from admission's offices!!
frany584 said:I haven't sent an LOI, but I did send updated transcripts, I hope they received them. They didn't notify me of anything, then again they didn't send an email when my file was complete either...lol I'm not sure if i should still try to send an LOI though? What are you guys planning on doing?
Oh and Zepp I pmed u 🙂
When I called they told me that the ADCOMM has not met yet. I think they are waiting until after the early orientation before they have the final meeting. I also asked about the ranking system and she said that we are not ranked yet.Squidward said:I thought they already held the meeting for hold applicants, so I'm not sure there's anything else to do but wait. I'm curious about the info. TrulyBlessed posted a few pages back about us being ranked before our interviews though. I wonder if we could find out our rank and what it means.
Wait-tastic said:Does anyone have last year's stats? It would be a good thing to know how much of FSU's class came from the waitlist? It seems to me that a lot of people are going to turn down acceptances to FSU, so I think we'll see a tremendous amount of movement on their waitlist/alternate list/hold category.
docturk said:Everyday I become more and more confused in regards to FSU's admissions. Has a waitlist been formed, or are all of the non-accepted/non-rejected applicants on hold? Are we holding for a spot ON the waitlist or for a spot in the class? The woman who answers the phone in the admissions office seems even more confused than me!! Please someone explain to me where we stand...
Regarding your question, I have heard that more than half of the class last year and in the previous year came from the waitlist.
Wait-tastic said:I originally thought a waitlist was formed and the hold list was separate, but I have come to realize I know nothing. The best I can make of the confusing phone calls and the say nothing emails is: they're looking at the hold aps. by the end of the month. We will not be told anything if we are not accepted. I was told today there are ~100 people on hold, and that being on hold at FSU is the same thing as a waitlist or alternate list. Some schools place people on hold and that's totally different than being waitlisted, but at FSU it's the same thing. So if about half of the class comes from the waitlist that means about half of us on hold should get an acceptance. The woman who answers the admissions phone said she hoped we would hear something by the end of the month, which means nothing, and that the admissions committee hasn't meet in two weeks.
Well, a coins flip chance is a lot better than no chance.![]()
That's funny...I got that EXACT email..LOL. Good ole copy, paste, sendfrany584 said:Well ~100 ppl sounds much more reasonable to me. I tried to get info via e-mail and this is what I got...finally:
Our Admissions Committee will be reviewing all applicants placed on the hold list since interviews have been completed. The committee will fill the remaining seats in the class and create the alternate list which will be used to fill seats as applicants withdraw due to multiple acceptances. This process may continue until the day classes begin. All applicants will receive notification once the process is completed.
So this implies to me that the class isnt full, and those on hold will fill up the class, while the remainder will be put on the alternate list?? i have no freaking clue lol! Also, this was emailed to me April 10th, so it wasn't too long ago.
docturk said:Well let's all pray that all of the accepted applicants decline their acceptances and then ALL of us hold applicants will gain admissions...that would be SWEET! I know that's a long shot, but seriously let's just hope that all of the active participants on this thread get accepted (then we can all get together and laugh about how much we were stressing while we were on hold!!)
Stay positive and goodluck!

hey guys -
I went to the early orientation yesterday and Dr. Eveland clarified that indeed because FSU is an early start school, students with mutliple acceptances had to make a decision by April 15. There should now be lots of movement. Best of luck to you all.
DrMike24 said:Hey all... I am withdrawing from FSU so I hope that it clears up a spot for someone on here. Have fun, I really enjoyed my interview there.
