Hello,

I am currently in the process of applying to PT programs I was just wondering if there was a way to enter future volunteer hours at an unknown location. As part of my curriculum at school I need to do a 126 hour internship. I will definitely be doing it at a local hospital/clinic. Is there a way to put this into my PTCAS application? or is there no way to get credit for those hours even though I know they will be completed before graduation. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that you cannot get credit for hours that you have not completed yet. As in, a therapist cannot verify future hours, but only hours completed. You can enter in future hours, but I think that you have to enter in a specific location, and you can get them verified once they're done. Also, yours school may not require verification of these hours, so you might be able to just enter in the future hours and be done with it. Don't take my word for this though.

Please double check with the PTCAS instructions, and ask them on their facebook page/call their customer service. They respond very quickly.

If you look at PTCAS you will see that when you go to enter a PT observation experience you can enter "hours completed" and "hours planned" within that experience. If you are applying to any schools that require that hours be verified, you will need to have the PT re-verify the planned hours once they are completed. I don't think there is really a way to enter hours without having a facility or a PT associated with them.
