Cray please do not attack the new mods on their experience level. If you don't want to play their game, then don't.

I think to some extent these are fair questions though and they may struggle to fill out sign ups if there's not a more experienced mod affiliated with the game. Cray is not the only player who won't play a game run by baby mods. Better to tell them that could be an issue in advance. Especially since it's fixable.

For the record, I can't play so while I wouldn't co-mod I would be happy to at least look the set up over for balance if they would like and it would help at all.

I don't see how my questions, which are questions, was attacking anybody.

I'm trying to decide if I'm going to play the game. If we want to avoid problems, the answers to these questions are the best way for me to determine if the game is appropriate for me to play or not.

Not sure why the only way for me to figure this out is not to ask questions about the game and its set up and take a blind leap of faith. All or nothing. That's ridiculous.

I...don't really know why this turned into a big thing, but in any case, I interpreted the fact that champs game might not fit into the current open slot as a good reason to run it later. I don't think there's any reason to rush voting to try to squeeze it in. Same reason why I'm not running RvB right now even though I said I might if there was a gap (that and I'm a slacker mod and things aren't done with it yet). Unless I put an actual date on my games on the list, they're flexible, so if people have specific dates that work best for them, I'm fine moving around.

I'm also tbh really confused about why it's running in late May if the qualifiers start in Mid May. But that's an aside.

The champ picks a date range that works for them when they sign up, I think there's usually only one qualifier going on at a time so they run for a couple months. My qualifying game a couple years ago was in June. This year since everything got started late, they're running mid-May to early July.

I guess it's just weird to me to run practice after the qualifiers have already started. I guess the rep is just stuck picking a later date range, but it just is a little odd to me. Though less odd than before when I thought they just get assigned some time between Mid May and June and don't have much choice as to when.

Not much choice for practice timeframe this time around since MU was late getting the info out, we literally got the invite on Wednesday. Honestly I'm not sure how other sites are getting things squared away in time to have people ready to play their qualifying game so soon since the deadline for picking a champ isn't until May 7th, but they might have larger player bases (more ability to run simultaneous games) or on the flipside games running less often so it's easier to fit one in. Or they might not do practice games if they're already structured more similarly to how MU is set up.

Are those the only mods? How many games has the lead mod ran before? Was your game design looked over by someone with experience? Is this a basics game or role madness? Is it based on a classic set up or totally new?

Hi cray! So yes these are the only mods. However, I ran a small game last year as lead mod with AM’s help. I also have co modded a few games, particularly the role madness game WWho Goes There of AM’s main design (can’t name the other mods off the top of my head). Mel has looked over and approved the game design but I’m always open to another person taking a look. I wouldn’t consider it role madness but I wouldn’t consider it basics by any means. All mechanics and roles should be familiar to the players as I was not going for anything crazy on my first outing on my own. My game is completely written and ready to go if people are itching for a game

I'd rather just not run the game right now than have people sign up just to fill space when they know they won't be active so don't worry about it.

It sucks a little bit since I don't know if I'll ever have time to run games once I'm working but hopefully I'll find a way to make it work at some point.
