I do think the long cycles make things a little easier for me but hell I'll play whatever (except probably not a speed game)

I actually also really love the long cycles. Sorry if people feel like the first day is boring but I feel like it helps me so much..

i feel like even the same volume of posts spread out over 36 hours is a lot more palatable to me than a 12-16 whatever hour day mostly full of text walls and fluff

i hate text walls

and i only remember to check in a few times a day and the evening is when i get home and do things like walk my dog and go to training classes and hang out with my SO and play videogames so it's sometimes hard for me to make it around the time of a lynch deadline every single day so it's nice to only need to remember to do it by a specific time every other day.

This! I love playing WW but when I don't have time to stay caught up on the game during the day, and don't leave work until 7pm most days.....then the deadline is in 3 hours- that's a lot to catch up on when I also want to be relaxing after work, hanging with my hubs, cooking dinner, etc and it's just hard. The longer day cycles are so nice. I realize we're not all on the same schedule and not everyone works, but every once in awhile it's refreshing to have a game that caters to those of us who work.

You don't have to be sorry about it? It's a personal preference thing.

I might end up not playing as much if the long cycles become the long term norm, simply because I find it less fun without instant gratification, but it's probably best for mods to try to optimize for set ups that suit the interests of the largest number of people.

Tl;Dr it sounds like a lot of people like the longer cycles, and it's fine with me if I am overruled as an outlier 🙂
