Hey @Ms Procrastinator I can't remember if you've done any modding before but you are welcome to hop in on the basics game to get a feel for it. It won't be a very work intensive game (nowhere near as many ambiguous modding decisions as in the role madness ones) but you can at least get a feel for some of the aspects of modding that you don't see when you're playing.

A couple MU articles that might be useful for future mods. Note that I am not posting this as commentary on anybody's modding or recent games or any of that...I just love WW theory and discussion more than most other topics in the universe, and I found some useful things in these articles myself. I'm stupidly passionate about designing and modding games and reading/talking about this stuff just makes me happy.

#12: What makes a game good? (by Frozen Angel)
(point #1 here is my favorite and, I think, one of the most important things to keep in mind when you design a game)

#13: How to design a setup that won’t make players want to blacklist you afterwards (by mhsmith0)

Note I don't agree with everything in these articles, and I'd actually love to discuss a little if people want to! For one, the numbers in the second article are off for our site meta - we typically run at Village = Wolf*4 or more, but there is reason for that (and we still have a lot of wolf wins at that ratio).

The section on determining if a game is broken is pure gold.

Bumping these again for new players who may soon be looking into modding games, I certainly don't 100% agree with everything here, but they are good jumping off points and there is a lot of value in the points discussed. I probably won't be playing much in the near future because of the time commitment, I think after modding and playing while in school I've determined @Karabiner13 is right and it's actually a bit more feasible for me to mod while busy as long as the game is a reasonable size. I'm happy to consult on game designs for anyone that needs another set of eyes - though I would recommend getting two sets if you can, and really the best thing is to have someone actually available throughout the entire design and game running process.

I love this article almost as much as I love the Powerwolfing article. Not because there's anything particularly mindblowing in it, but because it's like...the best wolfing pep talk.

Au Canada 😀

Shockingly, Canada sold off all their sovereign Au in 2016!

Canada, bucking an international trend that has seen central banks become net buyers of gold since 2010, has sold off all its official gold holdings. Canada’s official international reserves last released by the Bank of Canada (BofC) on February 23, 2016 showed gold reserves at zero (0). This is unprecedented. Canada now stands as the only G7 nation that does not hold at least 100 tonnes of gold in its official reserves. According to statistics from the World Gold Council (WGC), Canada’s current holdings would now rank it dead last out of 100 central banks, behind Albania at number 99. A footnote says that the BofC still holds 77 ounces of gold, primarily in gold coins.
