Probably?? Reading on one’s own vs. analyzing in a group setting esp for school is very different.

it’s been a while since I read it but I think it was the ending where I was like da hek

From my recollection I remembered that the ending was weird. I actually just went back and reread the end and it definitely makes more sense now looking back at it compared to when I first read it. I kinda like the ending (especially now that I’m not forced to read it for school which always puts an underlying dread of being forced to read it). It’s one of those endings where it doesn’t answer exactly what happened to the main character but at least the way Atwood wrote the epilogue (?) chapter made the overall message of the book more meaningful.

One day maybe I'll be able to make a game about Norse Myth. Seems only fitting when I took a Viking History course in undergrad and do have real pictures of artifacts I saw 🤔.

I can recommend a good book that I just read that has a compilation of translated norse stories.

Yes! That‘s the book that I was going to recommend. There’s definitely value to reading it from the original sources since there are some things you will miss (ie the poetry aspect of the original writing) but he did do a great job.

It's a bit of both. It's promoted as a community event, but there's a section in the MU awards where some slot gets chosen for best hydra.

There'll be multiple games so I should be good regardless of if I play with cubs or not. (I think one year I participated in five different hydras and no scheduling conflicts ever occurred.)

Dunno what the options are but if there's one running in December that would be ideal probably. Cycle lengths don't make a huge difference but 36/12 seems to work best for me. The 48 hour days have ended up being too much to read through when I've played those lol

There's a Dec 7 and Dec 14 game so I could put us down for one of those. Dec 28 also is an option, but that's for a mash. Mashes (40+ slots) are always 12/12 and are ****posting rather than WW for like half the game.
