Hi SDN! I'm in my last year of PT school and I currently have a 54" vinyl gait belt. On my first rotation, my belt was too small for some of my patients and I felt so bad because I didn't want them to feel uncomfortable/insecure while I grabbed a larger belt from my CI. Hence my question: I'm looking to get a larger size before my upcoming rotations (outpatient neuro and outpatient ortho) and I'm wondering what works for you? Should I stick with vinyl but get a 60" or 72"? Will a 60" be big enough for most overweight/obese patients? Or do you have better experience with the cloth ones, especially for comfort for larger patients? Thank you in advance for your feedback!
