What’s up guys. I recently graduated from college from a top public university in my state. I am applying next cycle with the hopes of being admitted to a 2027 class. These are my stats so far

3.68 cGPA probably around the same sGPA (cum laude) 5 semesters of undergraduate research Organic Chemistry TA, General Chemistry TA Upper Level Psychology Course TA 40 hours of hospital volunteering Around 100 hours of volunteer EMT Neuroscience and Psychology Honors Society

I haven’t taken the mcat yet and I am planning on taking it in January. I am just curious what score I would need to get in order to seem competitive for MD schools. I think my GPA is a little low and am curious what you guys think.

I am also going to continue volunteering as an EMT and hope to have around 1000 hours by the time I apply. I am also in the process of filling out applications for paid research positions/medical assistant positions in order to make some money while also gaining some experience.

I am just curious on what I should focus on in this year and any feedback would be awesome. The one thing freaking me out is my GPA and I don’t know if I should do a postbacc.

Welcome to the forums.

What about community service? Have you secured letters from your professors? Did you meet your prehealth advisors before you graduated? I don't think your cGPA is a problem; what's your BCPM GPA?

I’m starting to volunteer at a Soup Kitchen in the next few weeks, estimating to have at least 100-150 hours there. I received letters already as I thought I would be applying this cycle. I also did meet with my pre health advisor during this past semester. My BCPM is either similar to a 3.68 or just below (nothing less than 3.64)
