Hello,
I'm looking for a possible link or guide to help with gastrulation/embryology (for the most relevant organism). I'm using Kaplan and a few other sources, but am always faltering practice questions that ask something like:
"The X is derived from..."
a. mesoderm
b. ectoderm
c. endoderm

I can find basic information but when asked about specific organs etc., I fail. Any ideas? (chart of specifics would be helpful).
Thanks

The Generalization is:
Ectoderm forms the outer layer of skin and nervous system.

Mesoderm forms the muscles, connective tissues, skeleton, kidneys, and circulatory and reproductive organs.

Endoderm forms the lining of the gut, respiratory tract, and urinary bladder. It also forms the glands associated with the gut and respiratory tract.

For links, you should go look at a biology textbook (i.e. Campbells) because Kaplan is very poor in explaining concepts about embryology.

I just used Kaplan DAT. I found the real DAT super easy compared to topscore and Kaplan. I don't remember exactly all the details, but I believe I got 99 percent of my information concerning embryology from kaplan. Like e-coli said, the rest is from Campbell if you think Kaplan is too cursory.
