I've been noticing this come up in all the different practice exams I've taken (Kaplan, TopScore, Achiever) that a common question of chemical properties shows up, where it asks what characteristics a certain group possesses. The characteristics I saw often were conductivity (strong/weak), melting points (high/low), being hard/solid and brittle, ductile and malleable, and shiny solid.
All I know with fair confidence are that metals are shiny solids which are ductile and malleable and non-metals are brittle and solid. Can anyone help me fill in the blanks with conductivity and melting points? Thanks in advance!
