Hey guys,
I just got a quick question. Sorry if this sounds kinda dumb. I did a search but I couldn't find anything too specific. I'm taking General Biology next year and for the first semester of the course at my school there is no corresponding lab, but there is for second semester of it:scared: I know many medical schools have a lab requirement for both semesters of bio. Do you think that taking an upper division bio lab in cellular/molecular bio or genetics, etc would fulfill this requirement? Or will it vary from school to school?😕 Thank you, I would really appreciate some guidance😛

My school does the same thing. Yeah taking an upper level bio class with lab should fulfill the requirement. (according to my school's premed requirements pdf)

Alright, thanks dude. Yeah, I hope so:xf: because if not there would be nothing else I could do.

If anyone else has any idea about this type of situation, please do share!!

if it is its own course I think it counts as your lab requirement, but if it is a combo course then I think you have to take another lab

you could call amcas or ask your schools pre-med committee/pre-med advisor what people usually do

it is a separate course for 2nd semester, but 1st semester straight up doesn't have one.. but yeah I think I'm going to do that, thank you!

Any bio lab should count. My school doesn't have a bio 1 lab either so I'm using anatomy lab in its place.

UCD is on quarter system and doesn't offer lab for Bio 1 either. So every pre-med has to take an upper division quarter of bio lab. Alot of people choose to do physiology lab.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the help! I will just be taking it with cell bio probably.
