If anyone can input on these questions...

- Is it true that if we want to decide the resonance form of a particular molecule we calculate the formal charge of the atoms in the molecule and if they are normal then that is the answer? I am having problems with question 7 on page 809 in the Review Notes from Kaplan.

- How do we draw Lewis Structures of Na3PO4 and H3PO4?

I can show you what the Lewis Structures of Na3PO4 and H3PO4 would look like, but the program I use won't paste into this window. If you would like, I can send it to your e-mail as a file attachment so you can view it of microsoft word. Just let me know.

P will bond to all 4 O. One of those O will be double bonded.
In the case of Na3PO4, the other 3 O have a (-) charge and form ionic bonds with the 3 Na(+).
In the case of H3PO4, the other 3 O will form a covalent bond with H.
