General dentist license in New York State

Hello doctors,
Has anyone have applied for dental license in NY?
I applied months ago but I still do not know the status of my application even with multiple attempts to contact them.
Is it normal to wait for at least 3months for initial licensure in NY? It seemed very unusual for me but had no clue.
I appreciate it for any help!

I applied in July 2015, right after I completed residency, and got my license in August 2015. I remember I had to call several times to make sure things were progressing
