Hello Pulm/CC docs. I have just a couple of general questions for my own knowledge and other selfish reasons.

I have only performed a cursory search so far, but what, if any, relationship exists between vocal cord dysfunction and obstructive sleep apnea? Also, does having VCD mean that the OSA is considered, "complicated" by that factor? (especially in someone who has a lot of hypopneas during sleep seen on PSG). VCD seems to be a somewhat nebulous diagnosis and not many appear to have a firm grasp on what it is and how it may relate to other things. Just curious.

You might find a better response when actually asking sleep doctors. The age of pulm/cc doing sleep as a default are gone. I barely know any real sleep medicine outside of the very barbaric. I'm a sleep doc the same way I'm a "cardiologist" - when I have to be because my sick in the ICU patient needs me to be and no one can be bothered to come in and give an opinion.
