Genetics over summer?

Is taking genetics over the summer a good idea? I know taking pre-requisite courses over the summer is generally frowned upon, but the class usually isn't required for med school and is more of a recommended course. I'm taking it at my state school.

Not likely to be an issue. The bigger concern is people who try to avoid o-chem or physics at their home institution and take such a course at a school perceived to be "easier".
