I was wondering if there is a type of doctors that focus on genetics. I am extremely curious about future genetic engineering on humans(which i think is inevitable). Someone who perhaps sits down with a parent and helps them make choices regarding genetic alteration possibilities and new technologies available.

What type of doctor could do this?(or is there a completely different career path for that)?

Thanks.

Pediatricians can also do a Genetics fellowship after completing their residency training.

You could google "Genetic Counseling". I think it only takes a masters.

Google "pharmacogenetics" while you're at it. Not entirely related, but interesting nonetheless.
