my school is offering it without the lab which I found peculiar this fall

they offer the lab only during the summer and spring semester

would it hurt me to take the lecture only this semester and the lab in a subsequent semester?

I was always used to taking science lecture concurrently with laboratories, Im just afraid I will be fuzzy on some concepts they're showing in labs

Won't hurt, but look into the grad school you want. I know many medical schools only require lecture. I don't know if that's the case for vet.

my school offers it without lab. But I know a lot of people who take classes with accompanying labs the subsequent semester and they do fine. Some prefer it that way, and in most of the classes i have with accompanying labs, they usually get out of sync within a few weeks.

This has been my experience as well. I haven't taken Genetics yet, but other labs I've taken aren't always integrated with the classroom lecture. Usually, there is some overlap but I've felt like there was not much of a need to take the course and lab concurrently other than for convenience.

Genetics lab is so fun! 😀 You can do lec and lab later. What everyone else wrote above...👍
