Hey guys, does anyone know any of the major differences between the Georgetown SMP and Drexel IMS programs? Do you know anyone who has been through either program? How do they compare in difficulty to obtain very good grades? Do a lot of people get into med school while enrolled in the program? I have an inkling as to what the nature of these programs is, but I would really appreciate it if anyone could elaborate. Thanks!!

i did the SMP; its supposed to be the most "competitive"

i did it because it gave a credible degree (physiology and biophysics) in one year and it was an MS; as opposed to other schools that give an MA in something like medical sciences...

additionally; drexel makes you stay an extra year if you want the degree; gtown will give it to you in a year

about half my class got in during the program; the other half should get in this time around

let me know if you have more questions

the bottom line is you'll have to work hard for the grades; even if you work hard you might not get favorable grades; its quite an experience
