I got accepted to both Northwestern and Georgetown and am having a tough time deciding. They are both great schools and have things that are appealing for different reasons. For one thing, I already live in DC and know the area. However, have heard some negative things about gtown that I have failed to hear about NW. I know Northwestern has classes wiht just post bac students which i find very appealing AND they have been much more helpful, kinder, easier to contact than Georgetown which can be infuriating.

Bottom line I want the best education and the program I can excell the best in, but I need to know if anyone here has had experiences that can help me better form a thoughtful decision.

I would be incredibly grateful~!

Are you trying to knock out your pre-reqs? In my hoenst opinion, I wouldn't go to either of those schools. Not only are they extremely expensive, but I have found through my application process that schools do not necessarily care where you got your degree or did your coursework (as long as its not community college). They care more about the gpa that you have received. The end-all-be-all will end up being the DAT or MCAT depending on what you're doing because that is the only thing that they can use to compare two students. However, I feel as if having a lower gpa puts you at kind of a disadvantage.

This is just my opinion. I went to a strong undergrad institution and received a little lower grades. However, if I went to an easier school it would have been easier to earn much higher marks. It's also cheaper!

I appreciate your advice/opinion, but unfortunately i only got into good/competitive schools and well, these are the top two that I am considering so it has to be between these two. Just in case anyone who decides to post after also recommends neither, it is just not an option.

Thanks, anyone out there that has been to either of these programs and may offer any advice, that would be really helpful!

Go with the cheaper one... honestly, by the time it is all said and done there will be a LOT of debt involved, so minimize cost!!! Is cost not an issue either? (ie, parents, trust fund, etc?)

I can offer some observations about Northwestern's postbac.

The lectures are generally good. The professors are clearly more than competent and convey an interest in the material.

The labs were disorganized, except for Physics labs, which ran smoothly.

It's not easy to make A's, especially in the Chemistry classes which follow tight curves. The difficulty of Organic Chemistry at Northwestern is extreme.

Read my detailed review of Georgetown. Stay away! They take as many post bacc's as possible simply as a revenue generating proposition
