This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Me too! I would say it's my top choice...I loved everything about it. It's been 6 weeks for you...you still haven't heard? Have you tried calling?

I haven't tried calling them. I've been too scared to call schools after I got rejected over the phone by Duke!

Are you in Boston? If yes, so am I! I am working there currently. Send me a PVT.

Just received my acceptance from Georgetown dated January 3. Good Luck to the rest of you! I interviewed 11/2

Just got my acceptance letter from GT today. Interviewed November 6th. Hope this helps. Anyone have any thoughts on GT vs. Wake ?

I too want to know I am waiting for Gt but interview at WF in Feb both good schools congrad on GT!!! I hope I am as lucky I hope to hear on Monday!!!!!:luck:

Thank you. I am sure you will do great. So which would you choose between the two and why?

I am not sure.. first I need to get acp. so different. Both GREAT school I love them both... I have never been to North Carolina only on paper I truely would be very happy at GT. Wf is much smaller and cheaper But at this point I am not looking at cost just best match. I hope i have a choice!!!!!!😀 Wf is ranked 40th, 44 for research and 18 for prim care, Gt is ranked 54 and 44 for research but has great international programs. Large city verse a smaller city.???

I interviewed end of November and I called them today and they said about another 3 weeks, for anyone who interviewed around that time.

I interviewed end of Oct I am hoping to get in!!!! I haven't heard anything... maybe tommarrow.... should I call????? would they tell me over the phone???? I am dieing here it has been 10 weeks now....

When I called, they asked me for my AAMC # and so it's very personal...def give them a call, they'll let you know how much longer it's going to be...

Good luck! I loved the school too and realllllly hoping to get in there!

It is too late to call today.... But I will wait for the mailman tommarrow and if nothing I will call..... do you think they will tell me over the phone???/ many schools won't...I like e-mail better quicker here is to good luck:luck:

They said that they won't give you a decision over the phone...but they'll give u timeframe for when you can expect to get the letter.

I talked to them after Christmas and they said it would be mailed by the 4th of Jan.... so I just have to wait working on 11 weeks lol

I would suggest waiting out this week and then if you don't hear by Saturday, call them again on Monday

Still waiting for my letter.... is the "competitive application pool" also is small letter this waiting is killing me

I would imagine that small letter would be competitive applicant pool, for which you then have to write 3 paragraph essay...it really seems like a lot schools are taking longer time to get back to you than they said during interviews.

My interviewer called me up this morning to let me know that I was accepted! Good luck, I hope everyone here gets in, too :luck:.

Hey guys,
I got my small little letter today🙁...though i am still not clear on whether there is a separate waitlist and "competitive applicant pool" (i was placed in the latter, if they are different)?.
Also, does anyone remember how these categories work at GT? i know about the LoI, etc. but do you remember what their policies are after they're done interviewing and how they deal with the waitlist people? i don't think it's ranked or anything, right?
any info you have on that will be helpful.
i think the girl who gave us the tour said she had gotten off their waitlist in late may...

dammit, i'm so disappointed ...::sigh::

PS. those of you who are waiting, i interviewed in late oct so at least for me it took way longer than they had indicated. waiting is horrible =/

If you are on competitive applicant pool, write a 3 paragraph essay and e-mail it to georgetown...i believe they would read it then and decide based on that, and other usual stats.

I was under the impression that waitlist and competitive applicant pool were separate categories at GT but I could be wrong.

I think thats right now, they either reject, accept, or put you in competitive applicant pool, there's no wait list until end of interview season

Hi all -- just wanted to clarify a few things. I applied last year, interviewed third week of November and received a competitive applicant pool letter in the third week of January. Throughout the entire application season the 'competitive applicant pool' is synonymous with Georgetown's waitlist... in other words, they don't re-compile the CAP after 5/15 to make a waitlist. I was accepted off the CAP around mid June and that was the result of multiple letters of interest from January through June. All were the three paragraph thing recommended by Mrs. Sullivan. Each one had a different theme about why I liked Georgetown and why I thought it was a good fit for me. I also had a new Letter of Recommendation from a research supervisor sent to Georgetown in late May. I sent the first letter by email but then sent everything else on nice paper via FedEx overnight. It got incredibly expensive, but I think it showed them how much I wanted the acceptance, which is really the biggest factor they seem to take into consideration when deciding who to accept off the CAP and who to not accept. There was movement all the way from February through the beginning of school last year, with a small wave after 5/15. Don't give up hope when you don't hear anything, though -- just keep sending those letters and telling them how passionate you are about Georgetown. Lots of people get off the CAP as people give up their acceptances. With all that said, though, don't be a creepy stalker -- if you're sending letters more than every 3.5-4 weeks now or every 2-3 weeks in May-July, that might come across as a turn off. Anyways, I hope this was helpful -- feel free to PM me with more questions b/c I will probably never check this thread again. Best of luck!

I finally got my letter today. Its been just under 9 weeks since I interviewed. Stupid competitive applicant pool. So disappointed in Gtown right now.

I just went to Georgetown yesterday to smoke some hookah. I was buzzzed.

It's like a half hour drive from hurr

Any more G-town news? Has anyone received an interview invite recently? Are they still giving them out? I saw on another thread that they interview through Feb only. Can anyone verify?

They sent me an interview invite last week for an interview period from Feb 19 to March 5, so they're interviewing at least until then. Seems like they give more interviews per acceptances then some other schools. Can't wait to pop some champagne when this is all over.

from what i remember from the stats they showed us during orientation, last year they interviewed 1000+ for about 380 invites to seat a class of 191. give or take, i'm not sure i have that all exactly correct.

does anyone know if I should send the three paragraph letter via e-mail or snail mail? Also, who should it be addressed to?

you should e-mail the letter as an attachment to mrs. sullivan.

and for what it's worth...i'd recommend sending little e-mails every now and then to let them know you're still interested even after your LOI. I was placed on the CAP in mid december, sent an LOI that week, and then one email a week telling them i was interested...then i got an acceptance in early january.

ack ack ack. so i interviewed at gtown on 1/3 and apparently last week they sent out my letter but i live in japan so its not here yet! i had them resend it home but its killing me not knowing the result!

I interviewed on 1/17 and our decision was made yesterday. Mrs. Sullivan told us that the letters would most likely be mailed next week. I hate knowing that the decision is made and i can't know what it is. I loved the school, so much that i sent my letter of Interest/intent before an initial decision was made. All i can do now is pray....

I interviewed 1/15 and they just told me that the decision has been made but not yet sent out. I'M DYING!!!

I interviewed Jan. 2nd, and received a letter last Monday (Feb. 11th) placing me in the Competitive Applicant Pool, ugh. I sent out my letter of interest last week. Anyone else here in the same boat? I have a friend who's an M2 at Gtown, and he said that many of his classmates (about 50%) were taken off the waitlist/CAP, so if you're on this list too, it looks like we still have a decent shot.

I unfortunately think that the cost is a turn off to a lot of people that might otherwise attend Gtown.

interviewed 1/7 - acceptance arrived today

Because Ms. Sullivan indicated today that she was interested in what gets written on SDN about interview day - I think our group's general opinion was that she gave a thought-provoking, engaging, heart-felt talk - the most interesting lecture I've had from an admissions committee, for sure. If anyone gets into Harvard, I say they turn it down for the free donusts!

she mentioned that to my group too.

for those of you in CAP-- i withdrew my acceptance today. hope it goes to one of you guys! 🙂

Anyone get any word from them who interviewed january 10th or later?

interview season ends on tuesday, so they'll be finishing up sending out all the remaining decisions in the coming week or so, i would imagine.

Anyone get any word from them who interviewed january 10th or later?

Nope, I interviewed 1/20. Anyone heard from the admissions office in the last couple weeks?

I interviewed 1/30 and got a waitlist on Monday, and I have a friend who interviewed about the same time and got a rejection on Monday.
