Getting a J1 waiver for Canadians?

I have been reading couple of Carib-Med forums and i have come across this point several times so i thought that i might post it here...people say that if you are a Canadian...just forget about getting a J1waiver...Is this really true...does anyone has stats on Canadians getting the J1waiver...!

That makes no sense at all since Canadians would be perfect for the program considering the language and cultural similarities and the quality of undergrad education.

They may be talking about getting the J1 to begin with b/c of the silly letter of need from the gov't.
