I want to ask on how can I as an IMG get an unpaid research experience in the UK? Do you contact the consultants or the hospital and how do you ask for it? (volunteering/assisstance, etc?) And for how long it should be?

Ask for whatever time you are available for. Just send an email to them asking. Try looking on their websites.

Just mention everything you know how to do. If you've done any research experience explain what you did in the email. This way, the doctor will know whether you will be a good fit. Since you are already a resident, i don't think you will be doing data collection unless you have no research experience before.

Hi I'm interested know what you ended up doing? Did u join anyone for a research in the UK?
Also I was wondering Sinceur a resident igu have any idea how to get into a residency program in the UK and what are the best hospitals for doing so
