Hi everyone, new and old. The questions I'm about to ask are things I can probably figure out myself if I do enough homework, but I'm dealing with a lot of stuff in school and out, not to mention trying to finish my medicine rotatation and blah blah, all the stuff I'm sure you guys are all going through as well, and would really appreciate some advice right now.

Anyway, I'll try to just list my questions out in hopes of getting some or all of them answered:

1) I have purchased Step up to step II as my main textbook to go along with the doctors in training course (yes I know people have mixed opinions about the course but I bought it simply as a means for forcing my to do the material, I'm a terrible self studier). Are there different, or additional books I should be considering as must reads for my step II studying?

2) I am finishing up my medicine rotation in a few weeks and will be done with third year then. What % of step II can I reasonably say I covered if I go all out on Uworld and Step up to Medicine in the next 3 weeks? I simply ask this because I am trying to figure out how much additional time I need to cover the other topics on the exam.

3) Which is a better move: resetting Uworld and doing it again (even though I will have just done the 1000+ medicine questions) or just getting kaplan q bank for a month and having fresh questions?

4) Where can I find statistics that correlate step I performance to step II? I got a 229 on step I and I am really hoping I can get a 250 on Step II to make up for the slightly less than avg grade on step I for my desired specialty.

5) Any other last pieces of advice?!?

thanks!!

Step 2 FA or Step Up Step 2

and

UWorld

get you a 230. That takes about 4 weeks to do. If you've got your hands on DIT ( i dont like that program, personally, but if you're committed to it, your score will probably go up).

To answer question 1: StepUp, UWolrd, AND DIT? Any additional resources will spread you too thin. You don't have enough time to do everything, not even close to enough time. If you've got 3 weeks, you won't finish everything as is. NO MORE RESOURCES.

To answer question 2: 4 weeks for a Book + UWorld is standard. 4 weeks dedicated for the average student (which, by your Step 1 score, it seems like you are-ish). You;ve already done DIT? You may need to tack on 2-3 weeks to cover that program IN ADDITION to your Book + UWorld.

To answer 3: Up to you. Kaplan is harder. UWorld is more real deal. if you are going to remember all the questions from medicine, its not useful. If you only spend 3 weeks, you can consider "UWorld done" and dedicate time to reading. This is usually the opposite way I suggest people learn. Thats a tough choice to make.

To answer 4: never found one. People care alot more about Step 1, so have more predictor software, presumably with better data. I wouldn't really trust any Step 2 predictors. Know that the average for Step 2 is usually 10 points higher than Step 1.

I know technically its only 3 weeks of devoted time, but I do consider all the studying im doing for my medicine rotation time as counting towards step 2 as well. But yea, I think I agree that theres no more room for books. I've just heard good things about secrets and crush
