Okay, I dont know what's going on.

I took form 2 almost a month ago and got a 219/500 - fine scores I'd like to get in the mid 200's so I figured that was a good starting point.

Here were the circumstances under that test:
Hadnt finished school (was in the middle of Reproductive - 0 musculoskeletal/skin exposures).
Didnt take breaks.
Wore myself out in the morning intentionally.

Okay, then I took form 3 yesterday, after a solid month of studying (well, I was in calss, I just got out about 2 weeks ago), and since then I totally covered immuno/micro/bchem cold. And have completed like 1-2k USMLE world/Qbank questions taking my time to read the explanations and trying to learn as much as possible.

So form 3 - I got a 205/440 - WTF. On my score breakdown all my strengths from form 2 went down, and all my weaknesses (micro/bchem/immuno/musculoskeletal) went up. I dont know what's wrong - I cant slow down my question doing anymore - my USMLE world average is a 60%, the last 5-6 blocks of fifty being in the mid 60's to low 70's.

I'm kinda lost. My test is in 41 days (june 18th) - I've finished 75 percent of USMLE world (60% cumulative average) and around 60 percent of Qbank (75% cumulative), my first aid is like a bible, I'm studying 16 hrs a day 8 of which are review 8 questions, 2 hrs of exercise/eating/6 hours of sleeping.

I posted earlier then deleted it because I felt like moaning - but just now I took a block of 50 and got a 52 percent and got stupid stupid problems I should get right wrong. I'm screwed.

You have 6 more weeks to study and score 75% on qbank? You're going to do just fine. Take a couple of days off and relax.

Yeah, I'm going to sleep a while tonight and rest up - but I'm obviously doing something wrong -I can understand my score staying the same, but to get SO MUCH WORSE. It's ridiculous. I'm really starting to doubt all those people that say 10,000 = 230 because I'm going slow, learning, and going, but obiously not remembering....

Any alternative suggestions?

    Sorry man, I'm in the same boat. I'm just glad I'm not alone.

hmm...seems familiar although my score didnt drop.

we took the cbse in late march, 1 month outta school. then i took form 2 (day after school ended) as another preassessment but my score was exactly the same except the distribution had changed to the exact opposite to that of the former test.

It sucks your scores went down but dude you still got 41 days! I only have 23 days and I havnt even got out of school yet. Even if you were starting at a 205 you could probably bring it up to an awesome score. Dont worry so much.

you really gotta look over those questions you got wrong and ask yourself why you got them wrong. if you're studying 16hrs day, there's no way you should be going down. from what i remember you've been studying for this test for months so you must be doing something wrong to not be improving. also, that score also seems really low for your Qbank average (75% cumulative avg on qbank is a correlated 245).

Hey guys thanks for all the support/advice/reassurance (I'm at my girliest right now, so no one tell nobody).

About Qbank - that's a completely skewed score because all of that was done by organ system so of course I'll do well because I usually do each section after reviewing that organ system (ex, after reviewing micro I went thorugh all micro qbank).

But the usmle world score is all random blocks timed so I guess that'd be more accurate.

I think I've got to cut back on the questions and read through everything else one more time. I'll probably switch it to like 6 hrs questions/review and 10-12 lecture.

I've been studying for this test forever - I've read through almost everything at least once (except for gross/embryo/histo) I dont feel like I've forgotten much, i'm near the top of my class so I learned most of the stuff pretty well the first time through (minus physio/pharm/behavioral) . I tried to take yesterdays test under the same circumstances as I did the first one (wore myself out, no breaks, etc), and was falling asleep during portions of it, so that explained a string of errors - but not 15 pts worth - more than anything I'll review my path/phys again seeing how I've let a lot of those details slip while I was focusing on my immuno/biochem/micro.

And yes, i've realllly realllly got to slow down my questions usage. I was doing around 100-130 questions a day, i'm going to just keep it at 1 random block of 50 World daily w/slow going over the answers and maybe a Qbank organ-system related block of 20-30. I'll still be done USMLE world the first time thorugh w/27 days left (assuming I stick w/50 daily). And those last 27'll hopefully be enough to finish it again and get the most from it.

If anyone has anymore suggestions it's always welcome.
