I'm wondering if it is still possible to be considered for early interviews if I'm still going to be taking classes all of next school year. I'll be doing a 5th year to finish my double major. Do ADCOMS care that I still have planned/in progress courses? Will it work against me in the way that they will want to wait to see the grades or something? Anyone apply right after their 3rd year and successfully get lots of early interviews? (I'm a 4th, but it'd be nice to hear people's experiences)

nearly everyone applies with a year to go. I had a year's worth of courses to take as I was being offered over a dozen interviews.

Don't sweat it. Just make sure you complete what you say you will complete and you shouldn't have any problems. I was accepted and was only required to pass my remaining classes and earn my degree. Some schools ask you to keep a B average or keep up your current pace. Overall, you are in the same boat as a ton of predents. 👍

but then what about those 3rd years that submit before their spring grades come out, meaning that they really only have a limited amount of upper-division with grades under their belt? Don't you think ADCOMs would want to wait to see more of their academic abilities, even if its just by waiting for them to update their grades during the update window period? Any thoughts on this?

i am a 3rd year and i just sent in my application. i have taken biochem, neuroscience, genetics and adv. cell. after spring quarter i would have taken molecular biology and cell biology. fall quarter i am taking anatomy and microbiology. i dont know if that is alot.

i think music or langauge majors that wants to go to d-school just take the required classes. it might take them a long time to graduate if they want to take some extra upper division science that wont even count towards their major. but i dont know im just saying i dont think everyone needs to take a lot of upper division science...
