it is possible. you need a really high GPA and strong DAT scores. in other words you must be an outstanding applicant.

by outstanding, do you mean like a GPA of 3.5 or higher ?

Also, if I do retake a course, is the average counted or the highest mark, particularly for NYU ?

Thanks

Yes, way above a 3.5, more like above a 3.7. I also don't think re-taking classes is really an option when you're applying with no degree, they really want spectacular stats

Is their a different ranking for Canadain applicants ? Like, school could be harder in the US than it is in Canada or vice versa.

its hard for applicants from the US to get in w/o a degree, it is also harder for international applicants to get into US schools. i think your best bet is trying for private schools because state schools have residency requirements. i know there are some canadian ppl on SDN so try asking them for some advice.

Let's put it this way, I had a similar idea to yours, but I actually live in the US. I pretty much called about OVER a dozen schools and got a lot of "no" we want a degree, or yeah we take with a degree as long as you have a 3.9 or above and a minimum of a 22 or above on all sections of the DAT, so I pretty much threw that idea out the window REALLY quickly...lol

It has been a while now since I applied without a degree...but it is possible 🙂- I think these stats are realistic.
