I was just wondering which of the following 3 year pharmacy schools do NOT give any preference to students with a BS/BA degree. I know USN doesn't favor a prior degree. What other schools do the same?

Albany College of Pharmacy
Duquesne University
Ferris State University
Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine
Massachusetts - Worcester
Midwestern - Glendale
Pacific University
South University
Sullivan University
University of Appalachia
University of the Pacific
University of Southern Nevada

Thanks. Any other schools?

Duquense requires you to have a Bachelor's Degree for their weekend end program, which is three years.....

well eventhough 80% had BA/BS degree, there is proly still some hope and u should apply.

It's not like Touro where it was 100%

Hi CaliRx,

I know you have USN listed as not giving preference to students with a BS/BA, however I can tell you that a point system is used in determining whether you get an interview at the school or not and having a degree gets you points. You certainly get more for a Masters vs a Bachelors vs non at all. It's wonderful that the school won't completely eliminate you for not having a degree (most schools don't do that) however, I can tell you that many people in my class do have a BS and many had masters. We also had a physician (from another country) and a nurse and a therapist. Pretty cool huh? Sometimes I felt like a loser being among such prepared individuals. hee hee

That is impressive. Don't feel bad just because they have a higher degree. You are smarter in a way that you figured out your life sooner.

So, then there is practically no school, that doesn't favor a prior degree.

MCPHS admissions told me that 60% of their incoming students for 2006 had at least 4 year.

New update: Midwestern - Glendale now requires a BS/BA degree in order to apply. I guess that one is off the list.

I am having a bad day now! Im glad im actually calling every school. Dequesne University is full, only the weekend program is avaliable for students with a prior degree.

Hey guys:

I am planning to apply for early admission when August/Sept rolls around. I will be done my B.Sc in Apr 08. For the sake of application (ie pharmcas), would I be considered having a degree? or not?

thanks 🙂

No, but for all intents in purposes you will/would have a degree by the time you matriculate. It's in progress with your completion date of 4/08. Good luck

so that means for school that gives bonus points for students with BS.... I wouldn't be considered for that? 🙁

midwestern-glendale doesn't require a bachelor's
