Hi,
I have a question for the periodontists out there. I was curious about the gingival augmentation procedures to cover exposed tooth roots (free gingival grafts and subepithelial connective tissue grafts). I want to know:
1. Does the gum tissue actually attach to the tooth root or is a pocket (and potential abcess) formed?
2. What are the comparative success rates of these procedures (1 yr post-op, etc)?
3. Are porcelain fillings better than gingival augmenation in terms of root coverage?
Thanks!
